Victoria Sinclair’s story is a powerful example of resilience, determination, and the courage to create a better future. After making the decision to turn her life around and embrace sobriety, Victoria focused her energy on becoming self-sufficient and building something meaningful for herself, her family, and her community.
With support from the Peguis Surrender Claim Trust toward her vision for Chick’s Lawncare and Hauling, Victoria was able to invest in the equipment needed to grow her business.
Since starting her business in August 2026, she has already built an impressive client base and has a growing list of customers lined up for the Summer 2027 season. Victoria’s journey is about much more than starting a lawn care business—it represents a new chapter built on sobriety, hard work, independence, and hope.
We are incredibly proud to have supported Victoria’s vision and even prouder to see what she has accomplished. Her success is a reminder that with determination, support, and belief in yourself, it is possible to change the direction of your life and build a future you can be proud of.

The Peguis Membership is encouraged to remain mindful of potential water quality concerns during periods of high water.
Past flooding events and periods of elevated water levels have shown that contaminants from surrounding areas, including agricultural operations located south of our community, can be carried into local waterways and may affect water quality. While monitoring continues, we encourage all community members to remain alert and report any concerns.
Please contact the Peguis Health Department if you notice any unusual changes in your water, including:
- Changes in colour, taste, or odour
- Increased cloudiness or sediment
- Any other signs that raise concerns about the safety or quality of your water
Protecting the health and well-being of our families, Elders, children, and all community members is a shared responsibility. Prompt reporting helps ensure a timely response and allows us to keep the community informed.
The Peguis Health Department will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as necessary.
